I never noticed the beautiful details on this building until I was standing in a student's 5th floor apartment.

somewhere in Connecticut

On a drive to the MGM Grand at Foxwoods we took a couple of detours. There wasn't much to see but this charming record store in an otherwise dead town and some cornfields.

facebook

I'll be posting family photos on facebook and nice neighborhood photos on this blog. This shot is from a building near Harvard Square; I think it's a Harvard dorm.

admission

With my new position at Harvard (which I'm loving) I've lapsed in my photography and posts. As a step back in that direction, I wanted to recommend a book I've been reading, Admission, which is steeped in Ivy League atmosphere and just a great summer read. It's especially resonant for me as a parent who has recently gone through the college application process coupled with my working in an admission-like setting. Bamboo was from a park in Redlands, CA. I cheated; it's an old photo.
